Why: There is no in person TownHall scheduled with his 49 constituents even after weeks and weeks of constituents requesting an InPerson meeting. But he can somehow show up in person for Maher? To quote someone in the White House “Sad.”
Who: Constituents from the 49th District. Along with the 49th we are reaching out to Indivisible and Swing Left people from Congressional District 33 (Ted Leiu) and Congressional District 28. CBS is technically in #28 but down the block is 33 so we should be able to get some people. It is critical that we have 49ers there since this is of course our battle with Issa and if media is there they can talk to 49ers versus 28/33 people.
Details: No one will be able to park at CBS. But there is street parking on Fairfax and Beverly. Also next to CBS is Farmers Market and the Grove. If you buy something at one of the stores and get the parking ticket validated that will take the cost down. Farmers market has a lot of restaurants so you can get a bite or a coffee.
Traveling to CBS: Consider taking Amtrak. There is some work being done on the tracks in North County which impacts some trains. Double check with Amtrak. But once you get to LA take subway to either Hollywood & Highland (Red Line) or Wilshire/Western (Purple line). Get out and call Lyft or cab to get you to CBS (about 2 miles from either location)
If driving obviously car pool is smartest. You will most likely take 5 to 405. Get off the 405 at La Cienaga (just north of the airport). Head North on La Cienaga. I’m going to give you a secret route now…. When you get to Jefferson turn right. Yes you are going east of Fairfax but bear with me. Go about a half a mile and then turn left on Hauser. Hauser is by far a much better saner drive for traffic than Fairfax. You will go about 5 miles on Hauser and when you get to Beverly turn left. Start looking for street parking around Stanley. It’s 2 hour parking but you can feed the meters. Just past Stanley you will see CBS on your left. If you can’t find street parking then turn left on Fairfax head for Farmers market which is just south of CBS.
